Built on the FN FAL platform, the SA58 Para combines a proven short-stroke gas piston, tilting-bolt action with DS Arms’ U.S.-made steel receiver. The receiver carries "DSA Inc., Lake Barrington, IL" markings, and the selector is marked "S" and "R." The rifle uses standard FAL iron sights with a protected front post on the gas block and includes a sling swivel mounted under the gas block.
This example is customized with a VLTOR CASV-series FAL aluminum handguard, marked "VLTOR" and "MADE IN USA." The handguard accepts modular rail sections (included) for mounting accessories. A full-length Picatinny rail top cover is installed, providing uninterrupted rail space along the receiver.
The Para configuration features a right-folding tubular metal stock for compact storage and transport, paired with a polymer pistol grip featuring horizontal ribs for a secure hold. The adjustable gas regulator at the gas block supports tuning to ammunition and environmental conditions while maintaining reliability with the 7.62x51 NATO chambering.
The 18-inch barrel is threaded and fitted with a four-prong flash hider. Capacity is 20+1, and the rifle comes with two 20-round magazines and one 5-round magazine. Original parts are included—the two-piece polymer handguard and the non-railed dust cover—offering the option to return to a classic configuration. The OEM hard case is included and retains a burnt tobacco odor.
