Built on the J-frame in carbon steel, this Model 34-1 has a high-polish blued finish with a color-casehardened hammer and trigger. It was made in the United States and marked on the right frame with "MADE IN U.S.A. MARCAS REGISTRADAS SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MASS."
The 2-inch carbon-steel barrel pairs with a six-shot, six-flute blued cylinder. It uses an unshrouded, knurled-tip ejector rod and a short under-barrel lug. The action is DA/SA with a swing-out cylinder.
Sighting equipment includes a serrated ramp front sight and a fully adjustable square-notch micrometer rear sight for precise windage and elevation settings.
Factory markings include "SMITH & WESSON" on the left barrel, ".22 L.R. CTG." on the right barrel, and "MOD. 34" stamped in the yoke cut. The right sideplate carries the S&W monogram. The revolver has a round-butt grip frame with checkered walnut stocks and S&W medallions.
