It wears an FDE two-tone finish, includes FN factory folding sights, and is outfitted with an aftermarket M-LOK front-end extension and a PWS FSC556 flash-suppressing compensator. Built on a monolithic aluminum upper with a continuous, T-marked MIL-STD-1913 top rail, this SCAR 16S provides solid mounting real estate while retaining the SCAR’s robust short-stroke gas piston system. The two-position adjustable gas regulator supports reliable operation with a compact 10-inch barrel and a variety of loads.
This example is the earlier reciprocating charging handle variant, with bilateral charging handle slots. Ambidextrous controls and a selector safety are standard. The stock is coyote brown polymer with folding and telescoping functions, an adjustable length of pull stated at 12–14 inches, and a rubber buttpad.
The front end is configured with 1/2x28 muzzle threads and a Primary Weapons Systems FSC556 flash-suppressing compensator. An aftermarket aluminum M-LOK rail extension bridges forward over the factory gas system, and a Magpul RVG vertical foregrip and Magpul MOE pistol grip are installed. FN factory folding front and rear sights are in place.
Markings include FN HERSTAL BELGIUM — SCAR 16S cal. 5.56x45, FNH USA — Fredericksburg VA, and the FN oval logo. NFA engraving is present on the right side of the upper receiver. A trust engraving reading "THE KOSSLOW TRUST — JEFFERSON HILLS, PA" is on the upper receiver (left side). This is an NFA item and will require a tax stamp.
