The MPX uses a short-stroke gas piston with a rotating, closed-bolt design, tuned for 9mm reliability in a highly compact format. The 3.5-inch barrel is paired with a compact multi-port flash hider, and the quick-change barrel and gas-block assembly is secured with twin screws for modular serviceability.
Controls are fully ambidextrous, including the magazine release, safety selector, and bolt catch/release. A two-rod telescoping brace housing (no strap installed) plugs directly into the MPX’s proprietary rear interface, supporting straightforward configuration changes.
The aluminum receiver set wears a factory Flat Dark Earth finish across the upper, lower, and brace housing for a cohesive look. A full-length Picatinny top rail runs the length of the receiver, and FDE polymer flip-up sights are installed and ready to use.
Feeding is via proprietary MPX detachable magazines. This pistol ships with four 20-round magazines, and offers a capacity of 20+1. Receiver markings include "SIG MPX MULTI-CAL." and "SIG SAUER INC NEWINGTON NH USA."
