Chambered in 5.56mm NATO, this Sporter uses a semi-automatic long-stroke gas piston system with a 16.3 in barrel. The gas block is marked "5.56," and a conical multi-cut muzzle device is fitted at the muzzle. A cleaning rod is retained under the barrel.
The stamped steel receiver has magwell dimples, a pressed ribbed top cover, and right-side twin slotted interface plates. It features standard safety/selector markings and a multi-position selector lever. The receiver and external metal wear a uniform matte black finish.
Sighting is via classic AK iron sights: a protected front post and an adjustable tangent rear leaf graduated 1–10 with a "P." The front sight block includes protective ears and lightening holes.
Furniture consists of Phoenix Technology USA-made components, including a fixed black polymer stock with a 12.5 in length of pull and a right-side sling loop, plus a finger-grooved polymer pistol grip. The black polymer ribbed two-piece handguard provides a secure hold while keeping with the AK pattern.
Markings include "PIONEER ARMS CORP. RADOM, POLAND," "PIONEER ARMS CORP PORT ORANGE, FL" (import mark), and the Radom Poland "11" crest. A detachable 5.56x45 AK-pattern magazine is included, marked with "10" in a circle.
