    What’s Included

    • Colt Police Positive First Issue revolver, .38 S&W, 6-inch barrel

Built on Colt’s compact Police Positive frame, this First Issue revolver pairs a 6-inch barrel with a six-shot fluted cylinder and a classic blued finish. The chambering is .38 S&W, identified by Colt as the .38 Colt New Police, and the barrel rollmark reads "COLT POLICE POSITIVE .38."

Controls and operation are true to the model: double-action/single-action with an exposed hammer and checkered spur, the Colt push-to-the-rear cylinder latch, and an unshrouded ejector rod with a knurled head. The cylinder swings out and rotates clockwise.

Sighting equipment is period correct and fixed, with a half-moon front blade and a V-notch groove in the smooth, non-serrated topstrap. Colt’s Positive Lock internal hammer-block safety is present.

Markings and details include the barrel top address/patent line with "JULY 4, 1905" and an assembly/inspection mark "B." This revolver wears non-factory smooth light-colored grip panels with a five-point star inlay on the left panel and no Colt medallions.
