This small-frame 5-shot revolver is chambered in .357 Magnum and features a 2-inch barrel, giving it the classic snub-nose profile. The steel frame and compact overall length for the series (approximately 6.5 inches) make it a sturdy, easily managed package in a short-barreled configuration.
The action is double-action/single-action, and the Bodyguard-style shrouded humpback hammer includes a checkered spur for optional single-action cocking. Controls include a push-forward, checkered cylinder latch, a fluted five-chamber cylinder, and a knurled ejector-rod tip under a short underlug with an integral ejector-rod shroud.
Fixed sights consist of a serrated ramp front and a square-notch rear cut into the topstrap. The revolver wears black rubber boot-style grips with Taurus medallions, and the high-polish dark finish complements the compact steel-frame build.
Safety features include the Taurus Security System (keyed internal lock) and a transfer-bar mechanism. Markings include "TAURUS INT. MFG. MIAMI, FL – USA" and "MADE IN BRAZIL." The model stamping "651" appears inside the crane/yoke, with serial number markings located on the right frame and right barrel flat.
