This Mini-14 is an early 180-series rifle manufactured in 1977, featuring the Southport, Conn. receiver rollmark and classic blued steel over a hardwood stock. It retains the original 18.5-inch barrel, iron sights with a receiver-mounted adjustable aperture, and the right-side operating system that defines the first-generation Mini-14 configuration. The rifle comes with both a 30-round and a 5-round steel magazine, a black nylon sling, and the Ruger Mini-14 "Instructions and Parts List" booklet.

    What's Included

    • 1x 30-round steel Mini-14 magazine
    • 1x 5-round steel Mini-14 magazine
    • Black nylon web sling (installed)
    • Ruger Mini-14 "Instructions and Parts List" booklet

Built on Ruger’s investment-cast steel receiver with a blued finish, this 1977 180-series Mini-14 presents the foundational configuration many enthusiasts seek. It wears the early Southport, Conn. rollmark and the receiver-top rollmark "RUGER MINI-14 CAL. .223." The 18.5-inch barrel and detachable box-magazine system maintain the carbine’s well-known handling and reliability traits.

The operating system is a semi-automatic, short-stroke gas piston with a right-side operating rod and right-side charging handle. This example uses the four-screw gas block, characteristic of early production. It ships with two steel magazines—one 30-round and one 5-round—providing flexibility for range or field use.

Sighting equipment includes a receiver-mounted adjustable aperture rear sight paired with a wing-protected front post. Controls follow the familiar pattern with a Garand-style trigger-guard safety for intuitive operation.

The hardwood stock has a straight comb and is matched by a wooden upper handguard retained by a spring-steel clip. Length of pull measures 12.75. A black nylon web sling is installed, and the original Ruger Mini-14 "Instructions and Parts List" booklet is included.
