This Remington Model 870 is a 12-gauge, pump-action shotgun set up with two barrel options for flexible use. It includes a Remington 28 in vent-rib field barrel with Rem-Choke threads and a Modified choke, plus an aftermarket 18.5 in plain cylinder-bore barrel marked MADE IN CHINA. The receiver is marked “Remington 870” with serial RS04961K; the 28 in field barrel is stamped “REMINGTON ARMS COMPANY ILION, NY.” The action features a 3 in chamber, right-side ejection, and a standard tubular magazine.
Condition
Overall Condition: Fair condition, showing extensive signs of prior use and handling.
Bore Condition: Excellent - Clean, mirror finish, no signs of wear.
There are markings from previous handling and use. The synthetic forend has a DIY rattle-can finish. The stock is missing the shell holder springs/followers and has incorrect-size screws securing the buttpad; it will need to be repaired before shooting, and it is not recommended to fire the shotgun in its current condition. Photos show the shotgun with the 28 in Remington vent-rib field barrel installed; the 18.5 in plain cylinder-bore barrel is a separate aftermarket spare marked “MADE IN CHINA.”

The Model 870 platform here is a steel-receiver, pump-action 12 gauge with a 3 in chamber and right-side ejection. Receiver markings read “Remington 870” with serial RS04961K, and the finish presents in a matte dark tone. Capacity is 3+1 with the standard tubular magazine and knurled cap.
Included is a Remington 28 in vent-rib field barrel with internal Rem-Choke threads and a Modified choke installed. This field barrel is marked for 12 ga 2 3/4 in or 3 in shells and features a brass bead front sight. Barrel code on the field barrel is A9.
The furniture is synthetic throughout, including a fixed stock with an integral pistol grip and a rubber buttpad, plus a synthetic forend with molded checkering. Length of pull measures 14.0 in. Receiver and barrel markings document origins: receiver marked “Remington 870” with serial RS04961K; field barrel marked “REMINGTON ARMS COMPANY ILION, NY”; aftermarket barrel marked “MADE IN CHINA.”
