This Sako AV L61R Finnbear is a Finnish-made, long-action bolt rifle chambered in .338 Win. Mag. with a 26-inch barrel and a 3+1 internal magazine. Built during the 1980s AV transition period, it features the L61R Finnbear lineage, integral Sako tapered dovetail rails on the receiver, and a black painted/refinished wood stock. It combines proven Sako action design with magnum-chamber capability and practical field features.

The AV long action within the L61R Finnbear family supports the .338 Win. Mag. chambering with a 3+1 internal box magazine and a hinged floorplate. The floorplate offers secure, tool-free access to the magazine.
The receiver uses Sako’s integral tapered dovetail scope-mount rails, offering a strong, direct mounting interface. A two-piece clamp-on scope base set is currently installed on these dovetails.
There are no open sights. The receiver is currently fitted with a two-piece clamp-on scope base set for mounting optics.
The 26-inch barrel takes full advantage of the .338 Win. Mag. cartridge, and the round knurled bolt knob provides a positive grip for cycling. Finish is matte gray/silver for a low-glare profile.
The black painted/refinished wood stock is equipped with sling swivel studs and a ventilated rubber recoil pad with a white-line spacer. Length of pull measures 13.75 inches, set up for comfortable field carry and control.
Country of origin is Finland, and the rifle bears a Sako proof mark next to the serial number on the receiver. The serial falls within the 1981–1985 AV transition range, aligning it with the 1980s production era of the Finnbear series.
