Product Description

Browning BL-22 Grade II .22 LR Lever-Action Rifle, 20 in Barrel, 1972 Miroku Japan, Factory-Engraved Receiver, Simmons Deerfield 3-9x32 Scope

This Browning BL-22 Grade II is a 1972 Miroku-made lever-action rimfire with factory Grade II trim, including upgraded walnut and an engraved receiver on both sides. It features the BL-22's short ~33-degree lever throw, a gold-tone trigger, and a 20-inch barrel. A Simmons Deerfield 3-9x32mm scope is installed using two tip-off rings clamped into the receiver's integral 3/8" dovetail grooves, adding clear utility to the rifle's refined presentation.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Very good condition, showing only light, superficial signs of prior handling or use.

Bore Overall Condition: Excellent - Clean, mirror finish, no signs of wear.

Bore Rifling: Excellent Rifling - Sharp lands and grooves.

Specific Condition Notes: Minor handling marks are present from prior use. Please review the photos for close-ups of these areas.

    What’s Included

    • Optic: Simmons Deerfield 3-9x32mm 1" SFP Duplex scope
    • Lens Caps: Flip-up lens caps
    • Mounts: Two scope rings clamped to the receiver's integral 3/8" dovetail grooves (installed)

Grade II trim distinguishes this BL-22 with upgraded gloss-finished walnut and factory floral scroll engraving on both sides of the receiver. The wood shows cut, pointed-border checkering and is paired with a black Browning-marked buttplate. A gold-tone trigger completes the Grade II aesthetic.

Mechanically, it retains hallmark BL-22 features that emphasize speed and control. The lever has a short ~33-degree throw, and the trigger moves with the lever for consistent finger placement. An exposed hammer with a checkered spur provides positive purchase, and ejection is to the right side.

The rifle is chambered in .22 LR and uses a full-length under-barrel tubular magazine with approximately 15+1 capacity. The 20-inch barrel is set up with iron sights, including a ramped blade front sight, supporting practical rimfire use.

A Simmons Deerfield 3-9x32mm scope is installed using two tip-off rings clamped into the receiver's integral 3/8" dovetail grooves. It offers variable power in a second focal plane configuration with a fine duplex reticle, and includes flip-up lens caps.

Manufactured in 1972 by Miroku in Japan for Browning, this BL-22 Grade II reflects the fit and finish associated with that era of production. It offers a classic configuration with the added versatility of a mounted optic.
