Browning BLR Lightweight '81 .30-06 Lever-Action Rifle, 22 in Barrel, Walnut/Blue, Miroku Japan (2004), 4+1, Installed Picatinny Rail
This Browning BLR Lightweight '81 in .30-06 pairs classic lever-action handling with a detachable box magazine and a rotating multi-lug bolt. Built by Miroku in Japan in 2004, it features a 22-inch steel barrel, a black-anodized aluminum-alloy receiver, and high-gloss walnut furniture. It comes customized with a receiver-top Picatinny rail and a laced leather lever wrap, with an excellent bore and very good overall condition.
The BLR's rack-and-pinion lever system drives a rotating bolt for strong lockup in a powerful caliber. Side ejection, a folding hammer, and Browning's traveling, pinch-free gold-colored trigger round out a practical, field-ready design. Steel sights include a bead on ramp front and a folding rear barrel sight.
The Lightweight '81 configuration is marked on the barrel and uses a non-takedown receiver. The rifle feeds from a detachable 4-round magazine for a 4+1 capacity. The forend uses a barrel band, and the stock has cut checkering and a Browning rubber buttpad. Length of pull is 14.5 inches.
Fit and finish are consistent with Miroku manufacture, with a black-anodized receiver and blued barrel over well-figured walnut. An installed Picatinny-style receiver rail provides a solid mounting surface. The laced leather lever wrap adds grip and comfort without altering the underlying mechanism.

What’s Included
- Picatinny-style receiver rail (installed)
- Laced leather lever wrap (installed)
- 1x 4-round detachable steel box magazine
The BLR's aluminum-alloy receiver keeps weight down while maintaining durability, and the black-anodized receiver finish paired with the blued barrel presents a classic look. The 22-inch, unthreaded steel barrel balances well for a full-size lever rifle. Side ejection supports reliable operation, and the folding rear sight allows a clear sight picture.
Operation is via a rack-and-pinion lever system that turns a rotating, multi-lug bolt for positive lockup. The traveling, pinch-free trigger helps maintain a consistent trigger feel through the lever stroke. A folding hammer provides additional handling convenience.
Stocked in high-gloss walnut with cut checkering and a Browning rubber buttpad, this Lightweight '81 retains traditional lines with practical updates. The walnut forend uses a barrel band, and the rifle is marked "BLR Lightweight '81" on the barrel. This example was manufactured by Miroku in Japan in 2004.
Chambered in .30-06 with a 4+1 capacity, this BLR offers strong ballistics in a lever-action platform. The included receiver-top Picatinny rail and the leather lever wrap are tasteful, functional additions to an already capable configuration.
