The P9R is an all-steel, full-size 9mm built around a short-recoil, locked-breech system. It weighs around 35 oz and wears a blued slide and frame. Checkered wood grip panels and an exposed spur hammer complete the classic service-pistol profile.
Controls are straightforward and defensive in orientation: a DA/SA trigger system, a slide-mounted safety/decocker with a red fire index dot, and vertical rear slide serrations for positive manipulation. Sighting is via a fixed front blade and a square-notch dovetail rear.
Capacity is 14+1 with double-stack P9R-pattern magazines. The P9R uses its own double-column magazines and is not Browning Hi-Power magazine compatible, a notable detail for sourcing spares and accessories.
Made in Hungary, this example bears the "C.A.I. ST. ALB. VT" import mark for Century Arms, St. Albans, Vermont.
The model was also sold as the Mauser Model 90 DA, and an R-prefix serial format is observed on this pattern.
