The M77 R Standard Rifle configuration pairs a blued steel receiver and 24-inch sporter-contour barrel with a clean, sightless profile for scoped use. The action is the early tang-safety design, a hallmark of the series, produced in the 1980s.
Chambered in 7mm Rem. Mag., this rifle uses a 4-round internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate for easy unloading. It is a right-hand bolt configuration.
The walnut stock features diamond checkering, a ventilated recoil pad with a white-line spacer, and a Monte Carlo comb. Length of pull measures 14.0 inches. Two sling-swivel studs are installed.
Ruger integral dovetail scope bases are machined into the receiver, and two Ruger clamp-on ring lower halves are currently mounted; ring caps are not included. The rifle has no iron sights, aligning with the original R (Standard Rifle) specification.
Made in 1984, this example reflects the classic 1980s tang-safety M77 design with blued steel construction and traditional walnut furniture. A Torel leather sling is included.
