The Gen 4 G17 incorporates the dual captive recoil-spring assembly to help manage recoil and extend service life. Its enlarged, reversible magazine release supports left- or right-handed operation, and the frame is compatible with the Modular Back Strap System (frame is marked "MBS"). The Gen4 RTF grip with finger grooves provides a secure hold.
The pistol uses a 4.49 in steel barrel with Glock’s polygonal rifling and operates via a short-recoil, locked-breech tilting-barrel system. The black slide has rear serrations and is marked "17 Gen 4," "AUSTRIA," and "9x19." The barrel hood is marked "9X19-17."
Sight configuration is the standard fixed polymer set: a white-dot front and a polymer rear notch marked 6.1. Capacity is 17+1 with the included 17-round Glock magazine.
Manufactured in Austria, the frame bears "MADE IN AUSTRIA GLOCK, INC., SMYRNA, GA." import/marking. This example is a non-MOS configuration with no optic cut. A Glock accessory rail with a single slot sits ahead of the trigger guard for compatible accessories.
