The NRCH configuration brings dual, non-reciprocating, ambidextrous charging handles for easier manipulation without receiver-mounted movement during firing. Ambidextrous controls extend to the manual safety and magazine release, supporting a wide range of shooting positions and handedness.
The 16" barrel is cold hammer forged, chrome-lined, and free-floating with a 1:7 twist for 5.56 NATO. An adjustable gas regulator on the short-stroke piston system allows tuning to conditions. The barrel is threaded and fitted with a three-prong flash hider.
A hard-anodized aluminum monolithic upper integrates a full-length, numbered T-mark Picatinny top rail, with additional rails at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock for accessories. Folding iron sights are included, with the front integrated into the gas block and the rear mounted to the top rail. The rifle wears a consistent FDE finish.
The polymer lower and FDE stock provide durability and adjustability, including side-folding and telescoping positions, an adjustable cheekpiece, and a rubber buttpad. Quick-change, free-floating barrel architecture, STANAG-pattern magazine compatibility, sling attachment loops, and a 30+1 capacity round out this SCAR 16S setup. Markings include 'FN COLUMBIA, SC USA', 'MP 5.56x45MM 1/7', and the FN oval logo on the right side of the aluminum monolithic upper receiver.
