The 590A1 configuration here features a 20-inch heavy-walled barrel with a fixed cylinder bore, a full-length magazine tube that ends slightly short of the muzzle while still providing 8+1 capacity with 2.75 in shells, and a bayonet lug assembly. It is chambered for both 2.75 in and 3 in 12-gauge shells and is set up in a 9-shot configuration (8+1 with 2.75 in shells).
The action uses dual extractors and twin action bars with steel-to-steel lockup. The receiver is aluminum alloy with a black-anodized finish and retains Mossberg’s ambidextrous tang safety.
Sighting is handled by a ghost-ring system with a wing-protected front post and an adjustable ghost-ring rear mounted to the receiver-top Picatinny rail. Additional M-LOK Picatinny rail sections are installed on the forend for accessory placement.
Ergonomics are enhanced with a Magpul SGA polymer buttstock featuring a spacer-adjustable length of pull, currently set to 13.5 inches. The Magpul MOE 590/590A1 M-LOK forend provides a secure grip and mounting slots. Sling setup is flexible with a barrel-to-magazine clamp QD socket and a single-point sling loop plate at the receiver.
