The Model 500 is built on Smith & Wesson’s X-Frame and configured here with a 4" two-piece barrel featuring an integral underlug and a factory ported compensator system. The interchangeable muzzle compensator included allows the shooter to configure the factory system to preference.
Its construction is stainless steel throughout, including the frame, cylinder, and barrel shroud, all finished in satin stainless. The five-round cylinder has elongated relief flutes, and the topstrap is grooved/ribbed for glare reduction and sight alignment.
Controls and handling features include a double-action/single-action system, a smooth-faced trigger, and a serrated wide hammer spur. The revolver uses an internal key lock and wears Hogue-style black rubber finger-groove grips with the S&W logo molded into the rubber for a secure hold.
