This Pre-64 Standard Rifle configuration pairs the long .300 H&H Magnum chambering with a 26" barrel for classic ballistics and sight radius. The internal box magazine is listed at 3+1 capacity, with a hinged floorplate and the bow-style trigger guard that collectors expect on a correct Standard Rifle.
The barrel is rollmarked with the New Haven address, model, caliber, and "Winchester Proof Steel," reflecting period manufacture. The receiver, bolt handle, and bottom metal are blued steel. Factory-style iron sights include a ramped front sight and a barrel-mounted folding rear leaf; the front sight hood is not present.
The receiver is drilled and tapped and currently fitted with two-piece scope bases and split rings holding a gloss Weaver K6 6x riflescope. A flip-up metal ocular lens cover is installed for added protection. Length of pull measures 13.5".
The walnut stock features a pistol-grip profile with checkering and sling swivel studs, complemented by a black nylon sling. A Winchester-branded ventilated rubber recoil pad with spacer is installed. Controls include the Model 70 three-position wing safety. Made in the United States during the 1950s, this 1959 example presents the desirable Pre-64 build and markings.
