The HK91A2 configuration pairs a fixed black polymer stock with a slim/narrow polymer handguard and a right-side sling loop. Controls include a button magazine release, two-position selector safety (S/F), and the signature left-side forward cocking handle. Capacity is 20+1, fed from detachable box magazines.
Built on a stamped and welded sheet-steel receiver, this rifle uses HK's roller-delayed blowback action derived from the G3 platform. The chamber is fluted to aid extraction, and the 17.7 in barrel is threaded and fitted with the HK three-prong flash hider.
Sighting is handled by HK's diopter iron system with a hooded front post and a rotary rear drum. The setup provides precise, repeatable indexing with rugged, protected sight elements.
This example is a true preban import with the HK Inc. Arlington, VA 22201 mark and IA (1980) date code, along with German eagle/N and Ulm antler proofs. It is marked Made in Germany, aligning with its 1980 production and import history.
