Built on the EDC X9 series, the X9S pairs a compact 3.25 inch fluted barrel with a tri-top stainless slide, top serrations, and an external extractor for a clean profile and positive extraction. The slide carries fixed iron sights: a green fiber-optic front in a dovetail and a black serrated ledge-style rear secured with a set screw.
The 7075-T6 aluminum alloy frame is finished in black and cut with Wilson Combat’s X-pattern texturing across the sides, front strap, and back strap for consistent purchase. A beavertail frame tang and undercut trigger guard promote a high, stable grip.
Controls are straightforward and duty-ready: single-action, hammer-fired operation with a Commander-style skeletonized hammer; an ambidextrous manual thumb safety; a left-side push-button magazine release; and a skeletonized, aluminum, curved trigger with serrations.
The dust cover is smooth and non-railed. Capacity is 15+1 with the included 15-round magazines, and the package also includes a 10-round compact magazine fitted with an aluminum extension base pad. Documentation from the factory is included, with a QC checklist dated June 16, 2020 and a test target dated August 4, 2020. Made in the USA.
