The M2 Tactical uses Benelli’s inertia-driven system with a rotating bolt, and the bolt is factory-marked "Benelli Inertia System." The receiver is roll-marked "m2" on the left side. The shotgun is finished in matte black with a black synthetic pistol-grip stock and a textured polymer forend for secure handling.
Sights are a protected front post with wings and an LPA adjustable ghost-ring rear, marked "LPA Italy." This setup provides a rugged iron-sight arrangement well-suited to the platform. The cross-bolt safety is positioned at the trigger guard.
The 18.5-inch barrel is threaded for interchangeable choke tubes and is fitted with an Improved Cylinder choke. The chamber is marked for 12 GA 3 in (76 mm) and accepts both 2-3/4 and 3-inch shells. This example is configured with a short magazine tube for a 2+1 capacity and uses a two-piece cap/extension collar with a front sling plate.
Sling attachment points include a rear slot in the stock and the front plate at the magazine cap. Import and origin markings read "BENELLI – ITALY," "BENELLI U.S.A. CORP – ACCOKEEK MD – MADE IN ITALY," and "BENELLI ARMI S.P.A. – URBINO – MADE IN ITALY." A marking code "IT21" is observed adjacent to the serial area.
