This M1A Scout Squad is chambered in .308 Win and built on the proven M14-pattern, semi-automatic, gas-operated, rotating-bolt action. The 18-inch barrel and factory multi-port muzzle brake deliver the Scout Squad configuration known for its handiness and controllability.
The rifle is equipped with iron sights featuring a National Match 0.062 inch front blade and an M14-type rear aperture adjustable for windage and elevation. A forward scout-style Picatinny rail is mounted ahead of the receiver for mounting accessories in the scout position.
The black composite stock provides molded grip texturing on the grip and forend, a rubber buttpad molded with the Springfield Armory crossed-cannons logo, and fixed sling swivels. The length of pull is 13.0 inches, and the rifle uses a two-stage trigger.
It accepts detachable M14-pattern box magazines and includes one 10-round magazine for a 10+1 capacity. Overall length is approximately 40.33 inches, weight is about 8 lb 8 oz, and the metal components wear a parkerized (dark gray/green) finish. Made in the United States.
