The KSG uses a bullpup layout with combined bottom loading and ejection, keeping the action close to the shoulder for a short 26.1-inch overall length. Its dual, selectable magazine tubes offer flexible ammunition management and a high capacity of up to 14+1 with 2.75-inch shells or 12+1 with 3-inch shells.
The shotgun features a full-length T-marked MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny top rail for sighting devices and a short accessory rail on the fore-end. It comes equipped with an SME vertical foregrip that integrates a light, adding practical utility right out of the box. It also includes a pair of flip-up iron sights installed on the top rail.
Construction includes tan polymer furniture paired with gray-finished metal components. The KSG uses a polymer sliding fore-end, a textured Kel-Tec waffle-pattern pistol grip, a rubber recoil pad, and a 13.0-inch length of pull. A cross-bolt safety is positioned for intuitive operation.
