This original (pre-G2) Thompson/Center Contender stands out with its factory-engraved frame, polished blued finish, and a 14" heavy-contour .44 Rem Magnum barrel. It features walnut target-style furniture and a right-side knurled hammer-spur extension. The bore condition is excellent, and the barrel is drilled and tapped for a rear sight or scope base. Made in the USA, the barrel is marked "THOMPSON/CENTER ARMS .44 MAG ROCHESTER, N.H."

The original Contender platform is known for its interchangeable-barrel system and precise lockup. This example retains the classic skeletonized trigger guard that doubles as the opening lever, and the exposed hammer includes a rimfire/centerfire firing-pin selector.
The .44 Rem Magnum barrel is a 14" heavy-contour steel tube with a round profile, plain crown, and an unthreaded muzzle. It is drilled and tapped at the rear for a sight or scope base and wears a ramp front sight. The bore and rifling are excellent.
Factory scroll and game-scene engraving on both sides of the polished blued steel frame adds appeal and highlights its pre-G2 origin. The walnut target-style grip with finger grooves and the matching two-screw fore-end provide a solid, consistent hold.
A right-side knurled hammer-spur extension is installed to improve access to the hammer. The barrel is roll-marked "THOMPSON/CENTER ARMS .44 MAG ROCHESTER, N.H.," underscoring its U.S. manufacture. Capacity is 1 round, with a single-action trigger and break-action operation.
