Built at the Izhevsk Arsenal in the immediate postwar period, this M44 bears the triangle-with-arrow arsenal mark, 1946г year stamp, and Soviet inspection/acceptance stamps. It uses the round receiver pattern with a straight bolt left in the white against a blued receiver and barrel.
The carbine retains its correct M44 bayonet system: a right-side folding cruciform spike with pivot block and locking collar. The barrel measures 20.25 in, and the barrel shank bears the 1946г year, Izhevsk triangle-with-arrow, and serial markings (no caliber stamp). A fixed internal 5-round magazine is loaded via stripper clips.
Furniture is the full-length hardwood stock and matching upper handguard, featuring metal-lined sling escutcheons, a left-side grasping groove, two barrel bands with spring retainers, and a steel buttplate. The length of pull is 13.5 in.
Sights are the correct iron setup with a hooded front post secured by a cross-pin and a tangent rear sight graduated in meters with Cyrillic markings. The bore is clean with good, well-defined rifling as noted.
