The top of the receiver bears the Ruger 50-year commemorative crest, marking this as a limited 1999-anniversary model. The left receiver is rollmarked "RUGER MK II" and ".22 CAL. LONG RIFLE." Production for this commemorative was limited to the anniversary year.
It is built on a blued steel upper/receiver and grip frame with a 4.75-inch tapered "pencil" barrel. The bolt is cylindrical and left in the white, with dual knurled cocking ears for positive manipulation.
Sight configuration is straightforward and rugged, with a fixed front blade and an integral rear notch. Controls include a manual safety, and the Mark II design features a last-shot bolt hold-open.
The pistol uses 10-round Mark II pattern steel magazines, with two included. Checkered black synthetic grips with red Ruger eagle medallions complete the factory configuration.
