The 32 in octagon barrel measures approximately 15/16 in across the flats and is secured by two transverse wedge keys with oval escutcheons. The hooked breech and tang allow the barrel to be removed for cleaning, aligning with the rifle’s traditional muzzleloading design. The twist rate is 1:60.
The ignition system is classic flintlock with an S-shaped cock, frizzen, and pan. The trigger setup is a double set arrangement, providing a crisp, tunable release. This is a single-shot, black-powder-only muzzleloader with a 1-round capacity.
The stock is walnut with a satin finish and configured as a right-hand stock with a left-side cheekpiece. Steel furniture includes a crescent buttplate and a metal nose cap. An under-rib with ramrod thimbles is fitted below the barrel.
Iron sights are installed: a dovetailed blade front and a dovetailed semi-buckhorn rear. Markings include: LYMAN - MIDDLEFIELD - CONN, GREAT PLAINS RIFLE 50, MADE IN ITALY, and BLACK POWDER ONLY.
