This H&R SMG DOE is a U.S.-made, DOE-pattern 9mm AR-9 reproduction based off the Colt Model 633 DOE. It features a 7.5 inch threaded barrel, straight blowback semi-automatic operation, and a dedicated AR-15 pattern 9mm lower for Colt-pattern stick magazines. The receiver carries correct H&R markings, and the upper uses a fixed A1 carry handle with DOE-style front assembly details that collectors and shooters will recognize.
Patterned after the Colt 633 DOE, this configuration includes the distinctive DOE-style round, vented clamshell handguard with delta ring. The DOE front plate integrates a flip-up front sight, an integral hand stop, and a large front sling loop, staying true to the iconic DOE layout.
The action is straight blowback and semi-automatic, chambered in 9mm. The 7.5 inch barrel is threaded, offering compatibility with standard 9mm muzzle devices. Sighting is handled by an A1-style fixed carry-handle aperture in the rear and the DOE flip-up front sight in the front assembly. The manual safety selector is present, with selector legends marked SAFE–SEMI–AUTO.
The dedicated AR-15 pattern 9mm lower is built for Colt-pattern steel stick magazines. Capacity is 32+1 with the included 32-round magazine, and a 20-round magazine is also included. Furniture consists of an M16A2-style pistol grip and a telescoping stock, and the receiver wears a matte anodized finish for a uniform, purposeful look.
Receiver markings include the H&R lion-in-circle logo, model "SMG," and caliber "9MM NATO," with the right side marked "HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON WEST COLUMBIA SC USA." This U.S.-made reproduction captures the DOE configuration while providing a clean, well-executed 9mm AR-9 platform.
