This Smith & Wesson M&P-15 Performance Center AXE stands out with a Gemtech GVAC gas-venting upper, a 16 inch 4150 CMV barrel with Armornite finish and 5R rifling, and a threaded muzzle capped by the Gemtech ETM flash hider (closed-end, three-port design). It features upgraded Performance Center components including a Hiperfire Enhanced Duty Trigger, a Radian Raptor ambidextrous charging handle, and an ambidextrous safety selector. The AXE series brings Performance Center upgrades to the AR-15 platform. This rifle combines a forged 7075-T6 receiver set with a free-float aluminum M-LOK handguard and a full-length Picatinny top rail with T-marks. The uniform Comp Gray Cerakote extends across the receivers and handguard, complemented by factory markings and the Performance Center crest.
The 16 inch barrel uses 5R rifling and a 1:8 twist to pair well with common 5.56 NATO loads. Its 4150 CMV construction and Armornite treatment provide a durable, corrosion-resistant bore. The barrel is threaded and fitted with a Gemtech ETM flash hider (closed-end, three-port design).
Gas management is handled by the Gemtech GVAC upper, designed to vent excess gas. Controls and internals are upgraded, including the single-stage Hiperfire Enhanced Duty Trigger, a Radian Raptor ambidextrous charging handle with extended latch, and an ambidextrous safety selector.
Ergonomics include a Magpul CTR Carbine collapsible stock (mil-spec) with an integral QD sling socket in the stock, a mil-spec receiver extension, plus a textured polymer pistol grip with the M&P logo. Folding front and rear iron sights are installed, and the rifle retains AR-15 essentials such as a brass deflector, forward assist, and ejection port cover. Capacity is 30+1 with the included magazine.
