Made by Maadi Company in Egypt, the RML is a U.S.-designated import variant that follows the AKM pattern with a stamped steel receiver, magwell dimples, and a ribbed top cover. It is chambered in 7.62x39 and uses standard AK-pattern magazines, with a listed capacity of 30+1.
The rifle operates via a semi-automatic, long-stroke gas piston system with a rotating bolt and uses the traditional selector lever safety. The 16-inch barrel is paired with iron sights: a protected front post and a tangent rear sight marked with Arabic numerals. No muzzle device is installed.
