This custom Zastava/Preduzece 44 M48 builds on a Mauser 98 controlled-round-feed action and is rebarreled to .300 Winchester Magnum with a 26-inch, heavy-profile, carbon-fiber-wrapped barrel. It wears an aftermarket Boyd's laminated Monte Carlo stock and a matte grey finish, with the receiver drilled and tapped and fitted with a one-piece Picatinny rail. Yugoslav markings and matching serial fragments on the receiver and bottom metal add context to the build, while the internal 3+1 box magazine and classic Mauser features round out a capable, sporterized configuration. Built on a Zastava/Preduzece 44 M48-series receiver, this rifle retains key Mauser 98 attributes, including controlled-round-feed with a large non-rotating claw extractor, a turned-down bolt with round knob, and a gas-shielded bolt shroud. The receiver is drilled and tapped and currently equipped with a one-piece Picatinny rail for mounting optics. The internal box magazine with hinged floorplate provides a stated 3+1 capacity.
The aftermarket 26-inch barrel is a heavy-profile, carbon-fiber-wrapped unit with a recessed crown and no iron sights. This setup delivers a clean, modern profile, complemented by the rifle's matte grey finish.
The stock is an aftermarket Boyd's laminated hardwood Monte Carlo with a cheekpiece, rounded fore-end tip with separate nose cap (no schnabel), and sling swivel studs. A Boyd's rubber recoil pad is fitted, and the length of pull measures 14.0 inches.
Originating from Yugoslavia, the receiver bears the side-wall stamp "ПРЕДУЗЕЋЕ 44," and geometric proof marks are present on the bottom metal. Matching serial fragments were observed on the receiver and bottom metal. The rifle is sporterized and marked by thoughtful custom touches that focus on utility and durability.
