It comes outfitted with a silver Bushnell 3-9x40 scope on a one-piece base, offering a ready-to-use setup with an excellent bore.

The 308MXLR showcases Marlin's XLR stainless configuration with a 24 in stainless steel barrel and a satin stainless receiver. The laminated hardwood stock in grey/black includes a pistol-grip profile, fluted comb, cut checkering, recoil pad, and sling swivel studs. Length of pull is 13.5 in for a balanced fit.
Chambered in .308 Marlin Express, this model uses the proven Marlin 336-pattern lever action with a fluted bolt and side ejection. The rifle feeds from a half-length 5-shot tubular magazine for a 5+1 capacity. The 1:12 RH twist supports the cartridge’s intended performance envelope.
Optics are securely mounted via a one-piece scope base with silver Weaver rings holding a matching silver Bushnell 3-9x40 scope. A hammer spur extension is installed for easy hammer access with the scope in place. The receiver is drilled and tapped. The rear sight has been removed for the optic; a ramped front sight base remains, and front sight hood configuration is as shown in the photos.
Safeties include a cross-bolt safety and a hammer-block. The muzzle is not threaded. This rifle is a 2007 North Haven, Connecticut JM-era production piece, made in the United States.
