Built by CMP as an Expert Grade, this rifle pairs a USGI Springfield Armory receiver from July 1944 with a new-production .308 Win/7.62x51 NATO barrel. The result is a historically grounded receiver matched to current CMP-spec components for reliable operation.
The stock set is new walnut with the square CMP cartouche. Hardware includes a steel, checkered buttplate with trapdoor and sling swivels. Walnut upper and lower handguards complete the classic M1 profile.
Metal parts are parkerized per the CMP build, presenting a uniform, protective finish across receiver, barrel, and small components. The action is the M1’s semi-automatic, gas-operated long-stroke piston system with a rotating bolt.
Sighting is via the standard aperture rear with windage and elevation knobs and a wing-protected front post. The rifle retains the internal 8-round en-bloc clip feed, a 24 in barrel, and a 13.25 in length of pull. CMP documentation dated December 4, 2024 accompanies the rifle.
