The NRCH configuration equips this SCAR 17S with dual, ambidextrous, non-reciprocating charging handles. Coupled with an ambidextrous safety, the controls support right- or left-shoulder use without the handle cycling during fire.
The 16 in barrel is cold hammer-forged and chrome-lined, chambered in 7.62mm NATO (7.62x51). It is threaded and fitted with a factory multi-port muzzle brake. The action is a semi-automatic, short-stroke gas piston with a rotating bolt.
Ergonomics are enhanced by the right-side folding stock that also telescopes through six positions and includes a height-adjustable cheekpiece. The polymer frame and flat dark earth finish carry through the stock and receiver for a unified FDE appearance.
A one-piece aluminum upper provides a full-length, T-marked MIL-STD-1913 top rail, with additional accessory rails at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions. Folding iron sights include a front sight on the gas block and a folding rear aperture. Markings include "FN COLUMBIA, SC USA" and "SCAR 17S MULTI-CALIBER." Overall length is approximately 36.0–38.5 inches with an unloaded weight of about 8.0 lb. Capacity is 20+1 with the included magazine.
