This Smith & Wesson Model 629-3 Classic is an early 1990s stainless N-frame .44 Magnum with the -3 engineering change and Endurance Package updates. It features a 6.5 in full-underlug barrel, a fluted six-shot cylinder, and a satin/brushed stainless finish. The barrel rib is drilled and tapped with filler screws, and the revolver retains the classic no-internal-lock configuration. It also chambers .44 Special.
Condition
Overall Condition: Very good condition, showing only light, superficial signs of prior handling or use.
Bore Overall Condition: Excellent - Clean, mirror finish, no signs of wear.
Bore Rifling: Excellent Rifling - Sharp lands and grooves.
Specific Condition Notes: There are minor scratches and blemishes. The action cycles smoothly and lockup is tight. The grip screw shows pitting.

The Classic configuration combines a full-length underlug with a shrouded ejector rod and a 6.5 in barrel for a balanced, full-size .44 Magnum package. The satin/brushed stainless finish on the frame, cylinder, and barrel provides a clean, uniform look that complements the fluted six-shot cylinder.
The 629-3 engineering change incorporates Smith & Wesson’s Endurance Package updates. This example is from the early 1990s, marked Made in U.S.A., Smith & Wesson, Springfield, MA, and it does not have an internal lock.
Sighting is set up with a pinned red-ramp front and a fully adjustable rear sight. Controls include a smooth, wide trigger and an exposed, wide, checkered hammer spur for confident double-action or single-action use.
The revolver is chambered in .44 Rem Magnum and also accepts .44 Special, offering flexibility at the range or in the field. It wears factory rubber finger-groove grips with S&W medallions for a secure, comfortable hold. The barrel rib is drilled and tapped with filler screws.
