The PC9 Police Carbine is part of Ruger's 1996–2006 series of 9mm carbines built for duty use. This example is the original, non-takedown configuration with a 16.12-inch steel barrel and a satin stainless finish, made in the United States in 1999.
It operates on a simple blowback system with an internal hammer and includes a dedicated bolt lock. Controls are straightforward, with right-side ejection and a right-side charging handle, plus a cross-bolt safety.
Sighting equipment consists of a banded protected-post front sight. The factory rear sight has been removed, and an aftermarket NcSTAR receiver-top Picatinny rail is installed in its place. No rear sight is currently installed.
The black synthetic stock provides molded checkering and a screw-on rubber buttpad, with sling attachment points at the front and rear. The integral synthetic forend and a 13.5-inch length of pull round out the handling features.
This carbine accepts Ruger P-Series pistol magazines. Capacity is 17+1 with the included 17-round magazine.
