This Remington U.S. Model 1903 is a WWII-production rifle, manufactured in 1942 and marked RA 4-42 with the Ordnance flaming bomb. It features the M1905 barrel-mounted ladder rear sight, a controlled-round-feed bolt with Mauser-type external extractor, and a parkerized gray/green finish. A khaki web sling and a removable front sight protector are installed.
Built on the classic M1903 platform, this rifle retains key service-correct details: a 24-inch .30-06 barrel with RA 4-42 marking, parkerized steel receiver and components, and U.S. Ordnance acceptance. The period-correct finish presents the characteristic gray/green tone associated with WWII-era parkerizing.
The action is a controlled-round-feed bolt with an external extractor. Feeding is via an internal 5-round magazine with stripper-clip loading, and it includes a magazine cut-off. The rifle is equipped with a bayonet lug and a buttplate compartment for cleaning gear.
Furniture is hardwood with a straight-grip stock and grasping grooves, paired with a separate hardwood handguard featuring sight relief. Sling swivels and a stacking swivel are installed, and the length of pull measures 12.75 inches.
