This 1996 Smith & Wesson Model 629-4 is a stainless-steel N-frame .44 Magnum with the long 8 3/8" barrel and the standard (non-Classic) short underlug. It features the pre-MIM, hammer-nose firing pin configuration, the S&W Endurance Package updates, and no internal key lock. The revolver is a six-shot with a fluted, non-recessed cylinder and adjustable iron sights pairing a red/orange ramp front with a rounded-front leaf rear.

The 629-4 is built on S&W’s stainless-steel N-frame with a satin/brushed finish on the frame, barrel, and cylinder. It uses a six-shot fluted cylinder with non-recessed chambers, chambered in .44 Rem Magnum.
The 8 3/8" stainless barrel has a serrated top rib and a half underlug, consistent with the standard (non-Classic) configuration. Sighting is handled by an iron-sight set: a red/orange insert front ramp and an adjustable rear with a rounded-front leaf.
This revolver is double-action/single-action with a smooth-faced trigger and a checkered wide hammer spur. It retains the pre-MIM, hammer-nose firing pin system and incorporates the S&W Endurance Package improvements. No internal key lock is present.
Ergonomics are provided by a one-piece black rubber finger-groove grip that leaves the backstrap exposed (monogrip-style). The revolver was manufactured in the United States in 1996.
