The XCompact is built around SIG's modular, serialized fire-control unit, allowing the user to change grip modules and configure the pistol without gunsmithing. This example uses a compact-length polymer grip module with an integral beavertail and SIG medallions.
The XSeries package includes a flat-faced trigger for a consistent, straight press, reversible magazine release, and ambidextrous slide catch levers. The slide features both front and rear serrations for easy manipulation and is optics-ready for direct mounting of a compatible reflex sight.
Sighting is via a front dot and rear notch arrangement, with components mounted for secure retention and straightforward replacement if desired. A MIL-STD-1913 three-slot accessory rail on the dustcover supports common weapon-mounted lights.
Chambered in 9mm Luger with a compact 3.6 inch barrel, the pistol maintains a 15+1 capacity using factory SIG steel magazines. The right side of the frame is marked "NEWINGTON, NH, USA," noting its U.S. manufacture.
