Built on a Government-size 1911 platform, this Series 80 frame features a standard, non-railed, Government-length dust cover and full-size grip frame. It retains a round trigger guard. The front strap is non-checkered and the magazine well is standard and non-beveled.
The Series 80 firing pin safety is reflected by the proper frame cutouts, including two vertically spaced holes and a relief cut. The right side carries the classic Colt marking: "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO.

Several components are not installed, including the ejector (pin holes present), thumb safety, grip safety, mainspring housing, slide stop, plunger tube, and related small parts. One black checkered synthetic grip panel with a molded Colt oval logo is installed on one side only; no metal medallion is present.
