The 28" vent-rib barrel carries a single front bead and is threaded for removable chokes; it is currently fitted with an M (Modified) choke. The barrel is marked "12 GA 2 3/4" OR 3" — 3 1/2" ONLY WITH SUPER MAGNUM RECEIVER," matching the magnum receiver configuration on this gun.
The receiver is rollmarked "Remington 870 EXPRESS MAGNUM," and the serial suffix "M" indicates a 12-gauge magnum receiver. Chambering is 2 3/4" and 3". Ejection is on the right side.
Controls are familiar and functional: a cross-bolt safety, and the action bar lock located ahead of the trigger on the left side. The gun uses a standard tube magazine with a knurled cap, and the supplied capacity is 2+1.
