This Daniel Defense DDM4 PDW is a compact .300 AAC Blackout AR pistol built around a 7 inch cold hammer forged chrome-moly-vanadium barrel and a free-float MFR XL 6.0 M-LOK handguard. It features a Maxim Defense twin-rod sliding pistol brace, an ambidextrous DD GRIP-N-RIP charging handle, and a forward-blast linear compensator on standard 5/8x24 threads. Markings on the upper, caliber, and handguard are present, and the pistol-length gas system keeps the package short and purpose-built.

The 7 inch barrel uses Daniel Defense’s cold hammer forging on chrome-moly-vanadium steel with the S2W contour for durability. It is threaded 5/8x24 and fitted with a forward-blast linear compensator, and the 1:7 twist is tailored for .300 BLK.
The free-float Daniel Defense MFR XL 6.0 aluminum handguard provides M-LOK slots with an integral front handstop and a continuous top Picatinny rail with T-marks. The upper is marked “DDM4 PDW,” the caliber is marked “300” and “300 BLK,” and the handguard shows “MFR XL 6.0 M” with US Pat. No. 7,716,865.
Controls and furniture are modern and streamlined, including the ambidextrous DD GRIP-N-RIP charging handle, a manual safety, and a polymer textured pistol grip. Receivers are 7075-T6 aluminum.
Overall length is approximately 20.75–24.75 inches with the brace collapsed to extended, and unloaded weight is about 5 lb 11 oz. Capacity is 30+1. The DDM4 PDW was introduced in 2020 and is made in the USA on the AR-15 platform with a pistol-length gas system.
