The barrel carries the Southport, Connecticut address, aligning with 1976 production. This example was manufactured in the United States during Ruger’s Bicentennial year.
The convertible design includes a dedicated .22 WMR auxiliary cylinder rollmarked '.22 WIN. MAGNUM' in addition to the .22 LR cylinder. Both cylinders are six-shot; the .22 LR cylinder is fluted, and the .22 WMR auxiliary cylinder is unfluted and rollmarked '.22 WIN. MAGNUM', providing the option to shoot both .22 LR and .22 WMR.
The revolver is configured with a 5.5 inch barrel, a ramped front sight, and an adjustable rear sight for precise elevation and windage changes. Ejection is handled by an ejector rod housing capped with a round, knurled button-style ejector head.
Construction is blued steel for the frame and barrel, with bright, in-the-white cylinders, paired with an in-the-white hammer. Smooth walnut grip panels with Ruger eagle medallions provide a classic Ruger single-action look and feel. The New Model transfer-bar safety allows safe six-chamber carry.
