Built at Jianshe Arsenal and marked with the triangle /26\ stamp, this Type 56 reflects 1963 production and correct factory markings. The receiver also shows Chinese characters reading 五六式, and the stock bears a triangular inspection cartouche. An import mark from KFS ATL GA is present.
It follows the classic full-size SKS configuration with a 20.5 inch barrel, non-threaded muzzle, and an integral bayonet lug at the front sight base. The fixed internal 10-round magazine, short-stroke gas piston system, and tilting-bolt action are correct to the pattern.
The milled steel receiver wears a blued finish, complemented by a bright in-the-white bolt and bolt carrier. Furniture consists of a hardwood stock and a wood upper handguard with three ventilation slots. Slinging is supported by a left-side rear sling swivel and a front under-barrel sling loop.
Sighting is via a hooded front post and a tangent rear sight graduated to 1000 m. The 12.5 inch length of pull offers a traditional SKS stock fit, and the bore condition is mirror-bright with sharp rifling.
