Product Description

Mauser C96 Bolo 9mm Luger, 4 inch Barrel, Blued, 10-Round, Post-WWI Commercial with Mauser Wood Shoulder Stock/Holster

This is a post-WWI commercial Mauser C96 Bolo in 9mm Luger from the 1923–1929 era, featuring the short-barrel, small-grip Bolo configuration, the New Safety, and a large-ring hammer. It carries period-correct markings, including the Oberndorf address and Mauser banner, and comes with a Mauser wood combination shoulder stock/holster. The 4 inch barrel, 10-round fixed internal magazine, and tangent rear sight graduated to 1000 meters define this classic variant.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Fair condition, showing extensive signs of prior use and handling.

Bore Condition: Fair - Generally clean, some residue or smudges, slight corrosion.

Bore Rifling: Fair Rifling - Worn rifling, slight loss of definition.

Specific Condition Notes: The pistol is structurally solid. Scratches and blemishes are present throughout, with widespread finish wear, patina, and small spots of pitting. Rifling is visible but faint with blemishing. The recoil spring feels loose and may need replacement, and the action does not drop with as much force as expected. Parts are mismatched, including the barrel extension and rear sight.

    What’s Included

    • Mauser wood combination shoulder stock/holster with steel hinge hardware and oval MAUSER cartouche

The Bolo configuration combines a 4 inch barrel with a compact grip frame and the large-ring hammer, aligning with the post-WWI commercial pattern. This example is chambered in 9mm Luger and retains the New Safety thumb safety design. It uses a fixed internal 10-round magazine loaded by stripper clips.

Sighting equipment includes a fixed front blade and a tangent rear leaf graduated from 50 to 1000 meters. Walnut grip panels with wrap-around grooves provide the classic C96 handling profile. The blued steel construction is consistent with commercial production of the era.

Period markings are present: a "GERMANY" export stamp under the barrel, the "WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER OBERNDORF A/N NECKAR" address roll mark, and the Mauser banner logo on the left rear frame. The backstrap is milled for a stock and fitted with a side-to-side pivoting lanyard ring.

This pistol includes a Mauser wood combination shoulder stock/holster with steel hinge hardware and an oval MAUSER cartouche, pairing correctly with the stock slot on the pistol. As noted, parts are mismatched, including the barrel extension and rear sight.

Manufactured in Germany during the 1923–1929 commercial period, this C96 Bolo reflects the transitional features of the time, combining the New Safety with the compact Bolo dimensions and 9mm Luger chambering.
