What’s Included
- Remington Model 870 Wingmaster 20 Gauge pump-action shotgun
The Wingmaster series is known for its polished steel receiver and smooth cycling. This example uses the standard/heavy-frame 20 gauge configuration with twin action bars, a setup used before the introduction of the later LT-20 pattern. The T-prefix production window places it between 1974 and 1977, and the X-suffix denotes the heavy-frame 20 gauge variant.
The 26 inch barrel is roll-marked with multiple Remington patent numbers and wears a ventilated, matted rib. Sight alignment is fast and straightforward via the twin-bead setup, with a front bead and a mid-rib bead. The barrel has a fixed Skeet choke and a 2 3/4 inch chamber, matching the factory configuration requested by many skeet shooters of the era.
Furniture is walnut throughout, including a slender field forend and a pistol-grip stock with impressed fleur-de-lis checkering. Details include a decorative bird-medallion grip cap and a ventilated recoil pad with white-line spacers. Length of pull measures 14.0 inches, providing a comfortable mount for many shooters.
Controls and small parts follow classic 870 form, with a cross-bolt safety and a knurled magazine cap. Capacity is 2+1 in this configuration. Note that barrels from later LT-20 models do not interchange with this earlier heavy-frame 20 gauge pattern.
2 3/4 inch Chamber. Fixed Skeet Choke.
