Built on Colt’s medium E-Frame, this Official Police carries the classic six-shot fluted cylinder and a 4 inch tapered round barrel. The top of the barrel is matted/serrated, and the ejector rod is unshrouded with a knurled head, reflecting the period-correct service configuration.
The fixed-sight setup includes a half-moon blade front and a rear notch milled into the topstrap. Factory barrel rollmarks read "OFFICIAL POLICE .38 SPECIAL CTG." on the left and "COLT’S PT. F. A. MFG.
CO. HARTFORD" on the right, preserving the model’s correct markings from this era.
Construction is all carbon steel with a blued finish on the frame, cylinder, and barrel. The action is double-action/single-action with a smooth-face trigger and an exposed hammer featuring a checkered spur, offering familiar Colt handling characteristics.
Aftermarket Pachmayr Gripper rubber grips provide a wraparound profile with finger grooves. As configured, this typical factory 4 inch model weighs about 35 oz.
