Chambered in .380 ACP, the Thunder 380 uses a straight-blowback, DA/SA system with an exposed spur hammer. Controls include a left-side magazine release and a slide-mounted decocker/safety, with additional safeties such as an automatic firing-pin block and a magazine disconnect. The slide locks open after the last round.
The aluminum alloy frame keeps weight down while retaining durability. Grip panels are black checkered polymer with BERSA logos, and the frame includes a beavertail tang plus a hooked, serrated front face on the trigger guard. The slide carries serrations and a serrated top rib. The finish is a clean two-tone presentation.
Sights consist of a fixed front blade and a dovetailed rear notch adjustable for windage via screw. The 3.5-inch barrel balances compact dimensions with practical shootability.
Capacity is 8+1, and this pistol includes two steel single-stack magazines: one 8-round and one 7-round, both with finger-rest baseplates. One magazine is marked "MADE IN ITALY" and ".380 ACP."
