Product Description

    Smith & Wesson Model 629-4 .44 Rem Magnum, 8 3/8 in Barrel, Stainless, DA/SA Revolver (1990s)

This Smith & Wesson Model 629-4 stands out as a 1990s-era, stainless-steel .44 Rem Magnum with the long 8 3/8 inch standard-profile barrel and a serrated top rib. The -4 revision features a factory-drilled and tapped topstrap and predates both MIM lockwork and the internal lock. It combines classic S&W N-frame strength with adjustable sights and a fluted six-shot cylinder.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Fair condition, showing extensive signs of prior use and handling.

Bore Overall Condition: Fair - Generally clean, some residue or smudges, slight corrosion.

Bore Rifling: Fair Rifling - Worn rifling, slight loss of definition.

Specific Condition Notes: Widespread scratches and blemishing are present across the metal surfaces. There are many instances of pitting. The rubber grips are in poor condition and fit loosely. Rifling is present and visible throughout the bore.

    What’s Included

    • Smith & Wesson Model 629-4 .44 Rem Magnum revolver

The 8 3/8 inch stainless-steel barrel is the standard-profile (non-full underlug) type and features a serrated top rib. This configuration delivers the classic long-barrel 629 look with the benefit of a lighter muzzle profile.

The -4 revision is factory-drilled and tapped on the topstrap and predates later changes, including MIM lockwork (-5) and the internal lock (-6). This places the gun in a desirable transitional period for many S&W enthusiasts.

Construction is all stainless steel with a brushed finish on the frame, cylinder, and receiver. The cylinder is fluted and holds six rounds of .44 Remington Magnum.

Sights are fully adjustable iron sights: a ramped, pinned front blade paired with the S&W micrometer-click adjustable rear. The action is DA/SA with an exposed hammer and a smooth-faced trigger.

Made in the United States during the 1990s, the Model 629 is the stainless-steel counterpart to the Model 29, bringing corrosion resistance to a proven N-frame .44 Magnum platform.
